On Friday the 4th September 2009, National Directors and their wives from
the South East Region of the fellowship converged on the city of Umuahia, Capital of Abia State for the inauguration of the South East Region of the Fellowship. The
Region which became the second Region to be inaugurated covers the South Eastern
States of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo State and has within it 3 districts
with the Regional Vice President Hon Justice Obisike Oji based in Umuahia.
The Inauguration of the Region was scheduled for 10am on Saturday the 5th of September
but was organized together with a Training for National Directors and their wives
which started on the evening of Friday the 4th September 2009 by 6.00 pm and ended
at 10.00 am on Saturday the 5th November.
The Inauguration of the Region was a very colourful ceremony led by the National
President ably supported by Key National Officers. The RVP in his welcome address
informed the gathering that the new slogan for the region was “No more family planning;
It’s time to give birth” referring to the commitment to multiply the work.
The President shared an exciting expose’ on the Vision of the Fellowship for the
Next year after which he led in Inaugurating the Region. The President then launched
the Budget of the Region.
It was indeed a great take off.
The National Directors Training was very well attended with over 90 % of the National
Directors in the region present with their wives. One of the districts SE1 even
arranged for a joint transport to facilitate the attendance of all the National
Directors in the region.
The facilitatators for the National Directors Training were Engr. Toks Obayan NVP
Capacity Building,; Engr Okeoma Agu, NVP Conventions and Outreaches; Mrs Eunice
Agu, the wife of the NVP who took the topic the Place of your wives in the Ministry,
and Ocholi James SAN, National Secretary.
The Training featured a lot of interactive time and was most enriching and motivating.
The National President, Architect Ifeanyi Odedo as well as the NVP International Outreaches were in attendance at the Training Programme. The National Director Training
portion of the programme ended at about 10.am at which point the formal programme
for the inauguration of the Region began with Field Representatives, Chapter Presidents and invited guests joining the meeting.
After the Inauguration a closing session was held which included Field Representatives
on topics of common coverage. This was concluded with empowerment session. |
