 REGIONAL LEADERS ADVANCE REPORTS DEVELOPING LEADRES TO DRIVE THE WORK

As part of the effort to grow the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International in Nigeria to 5000 chapters by the end of 2011, new strategies were approved by the National Council of the Fellowship at its meeting held in Abuja in January this year. Some of these strategies include the deployment of the use of growth tools of Market Place Outreaches and Fire Team Operations.

Following this new wave of revival in Nigeria, the Capacity Building Committee of the Fellowship in the country identified a need for refocused and intensified training of officers and men of the Fellowship to ensure that all are equipped to drive the work at the renewed pace. The new capacity building effort was directed at training the trainers who are to take the knowledge down to the men in the chapters.

FROM THE SOUTH – SOUTH REGION

To this end the first in the series of trainings targeted at leaders of the Fellowship comprising the Field Representatives and National Directors and their wives was held in Port Harcourt for the South-South Region of the Fellowship. The event was held at the Grand Montecito Hotel from 5th to 7th of February 2010. The programme which had the theme “Developing Leaders to Drive the Work” recorded an impressive turnout of participants made of 94.4% of National Directors and 75% of Field Representatives

OTHER EVENTS IN THE SOUTH-SOUTH REGION STRATEGIC OUTREACHES:

1. South-South 11: Held a Strategic Outreach at Uyo Sports Club, where 50 Persons were in attendance and 25 decisions were recorded. The Guest Speaker was Mazi Ohuabunwa.

2. South-South 1: Held an outreach in Honour of Engr. Tony Ogbuigwe , the newly appointed Managing Director of Port Harcourt Refinery. Engineer Ogbuigwe is a seasoned Christian and a Life member of FGBMFI. The national President, Arch. Ifeanyi Odedo was the main testifier and we had 22 decisions for Christ.

3. South-South 1: Held a Strategic Outreach on June 24 for the top Government Officials in Rivers State. In attendance were Commissioners, Special Advisers, Director General and Permanent Secretaries. There was a great harvest of souls. Prof Don Baridam (VC Uniport) and Barr. .Boss Mustapha were the Testifiers.

4. South-South1: Held an Outreach to the Ex-Militants at the ALLU Camp. 50 were in attendance and 17 made decisions for Christ.

FIRE TEAM OPERATIONS

Most of the major companies and establishments in Uyo, Benin City and Port Harcourt have been touched by the Fire Team efforts in the Region.

FROM THE NORTH CENTRAL

The North Central Regional Leaders Advance was held at Sharon Ultimate Hotel, Abuja between Friday 19th to Saturday 20th February, 2010.

In attendance were over 45 National Directors, 95 Field Representatives and some members of NEC. The total number of attendees reflected about 95% of total number of leaders on record.

Various sessions meant to expose leaders to strategies of capacity building, ensuring chapter effectiveness etc. were held. At the end of the two days programme, participants had varying testimonies to share with a new focus/vision of the direction the work should go in the months ahead.
 FROM THE SOUTH WEST

The South West Regional Leaders Advance Programme was held between the 12th and 14th February 2010 at the SDM House, Opposite Secretariat, Ibadan. About 242 delegates attended comprising of National Directors, Field Representatives and their wives.

To ensure the success of the programme, a committee was set up to plan all the logistics for accommodation, venue of training, Feeding and other activities for the Leaders Advance which includes, local transportation, security, banner, drinks and honorarium etc.

The programme lived up to its billing as participants and facilitators had a very successful deliberation.
